*LAUGH OUT LOUD MOMENTSEach new country meant we would be practicing new words to help us navigate. Everywhere we went we would drill each other or chant over and over the words we wanted to have stick in our heads. It was a lot of fun and rather ridiculous at times.
Hello. Please. Thank you. Excuse me. Where is the bathroom? Where is the bathroom right now? Check please! Paris was easy... but the more words we learned the more we would confuse the languages. When we were trying to think quickly (as was generally the case) we would sometimes blurt out a “Danke” in Venice, or “s'il vous plaît” in Rome. Funniest times were when Tanisha would toss out a “Hola! Or Como estas?” She was embarrassed but we were lovin’ it. You’ve got to laugh at yourself and we did that a lot. 😉 |
The city's motto is "München mag dich" (Munich likes you). Now how do you say, “I like this cheesy Spätzle!”?

3 GIRLS AND A PALACE
Remember this chick-a? The one who thought that
pigeon in Paris was flirting with her? I wonder what she’s thinking about all those birds... “Welcome committee?” Things to remember: Stay off that bed and find a
buddy to give you a neck rub after gazing at the ballroom ceiling. A pair of palace groupies

The oldest part of Nymphenburg Palace was built as a gift from Ferdinand to his wife Adelaide after she gave birth to future ruler Max Emanuel.
Apparently she deserved something extra special. Most women would be happy if their husband gave them anything besides an appliance... but a palace? The original part of the house was clearly not enough to satisfy, so through the years “expansion” was the order of the day. These people clearly had style and took a lot of room to express it! “Hello! I’m over here. Let's dance!”
“Hey! Isn’t that the Isar River coming up? So pretty!”

Dachau
Stark emptiness and lack of animation brought the barracks, entry gate, ovens and gas chambers into clear deathlike contrast with everything vivid outside. Words cannot express how this site affected us. A harrowing, heartrending experience, but definitely should not be shied away from.
Dachau was the first concentration camp established by the Nazi government and served as a model for the other Nazi camps that followed.

TIME TO CHEER UP AT THE HOFBRAUHAUS
Can you imagine the waiter’s expression when Shayla ordered, “Apple cider please.” He quickly recovered and brought it out.
If Marius (Les Mis) were here he would have to change his tune: ♪“No empty chairs, no empty tables." But he could stick with: “Drink with me to days gone by”♪
